This call will be run on a 1st come, 1st served basis beginning on the afternoon of the audition. Sign-in will begin at 3:30 PM on Friday, and 12:00 PM Saturday and Sunday.

Actors for roles in Joe DiPietro's "All Shook Up"

PREPARATION
Bring your Headshot and Resume. Please prepare a 1-minute song from or in the style of the show (upbeat, rock-n-roll, pop). Please also provide a backing track as an accompanist may or may not be available during your audition. Tracks can be sent to casting@sevenangelstheatre.org. You may be asked to read a scene and/or learn a dance combination.
ROLES
NATALIE HALLER: Character identifies as female. Age 20s. Any ethnicity. (F#3 – F5) A mechanic. More comfortable in greasy overalls than a dress. Dreams of life beyond her small town. Spends half of the show disguised as “Ed”, in order to get closer to Chad. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
CHAD: Character identifies as male. Age 20s-30s. Any ethnicity. (F#2 – A4) A great-lookin’, motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout. Charismatic and on the move. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
JIM HALLER: Character identifies as male. Age 40’s-50’s. Any ethnicity. (Bb2 – F#4) Natalie’s loving and supportive father. Widowed and missing a love of his own. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
SYLVIA: Character identifies as female. Age 40’s-50s. African American. (F3 – F5) The no-nonsense owner of “Sylvia’s Honky Tonk”. Strong sense of comedic timing. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
LORRAINE: Character identifies as female. Age 16. African American. (C4 – Eb5) Sylvia’s daughter, pretty, smart, and a total romantic. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
DENNIS: Character identifies as male. Age 20s. Any ethnicity. (A2 – Bb4) Natalie’s awkward best friend and secret admirer. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
MISS SANDRA: Character identifies as female. Age 20s-30s. Any ethnicity. (E3 – F5) The beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town’s museum. Unapologetically knows what she wants. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
MAYOR MATILDA HYDE: Character identifies as female. Age 40s-50s. Caucasian. (Bb3 – C6) The town’s judgemental and rigid mayor. Enjoys being in control and telling others how to live. A strong sense of comedic timing. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
DEAN HYDE: Character identifies as male. Age 16. Any ethnicity. (D3 – Bb4) Matilda’s son. He has grown up at a military boarding school. Sheltered and awkward, love brings out a new side of him. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.

SHERIFF EARL: Character identifies as male. Age 40’s-50’s. Any ethnicity. The law in town. A man of not many words. Matilda’s right-hand man. Note: This role engages in staged intimacy including kissing and embracing.
ENSEMBLE: All genders. All ethnicities. All ages. Townspeople who make up the small midwestern community where the story takes place. Many featured roles and dance opportunities.
